Terms and conditions

The following terms apply to all work carried out by Surma Joinery & Carpentry Services unless explicitly varied in writing.

Quotes

Quotes are fixed for the scope of work described in the written quote and valid for 30 days from the date issued. Material price changes outside our control may be reflected in any quote issued after expiry.

Variations

Any change to the scope of work is re-quoted in writing before being carried out. Variations agreed verbally on site are confirmed by email the same day where possible.

Payments

Smaller jobs are invoiced on completion. Larger jobs may be quoted as staged payments, agreed in writing before work starts. Payment terms are 14 days from invoice unless otherwise agreed.

Cancellation

You may cancel a booked job up to 7 days before the start date without charge. Cancellations within 7 days may be invoiced for materials already ordered and for booked time that cannot be re-filled.

Workmanship and snagging

Snagging visits are included free for 12 months from completion. Defects arising from materials are covered for the manufacturer's warranty period. Defects arising from misuse or wear are not covered.

Liability

We carry £2M public liability insurance. Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out, except where unlimited liability applies by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Any dispute will be resolved in the Scottish courts.
