Home Extensions & Structural Joinery
Structural joinery for extensions: frames, beams, openings, finishes.
What's included
- Structural openings: lintels, steel beam installation, padstones
- Stud and timber frame construction for new walls
- Floor joist installation, levelling, strengthening
- Roof framing, trussing, sarking, lath where the architecture calls for it
- First-fix joinery and coordination with brickwork, plumbing, electrics
- Second-fix finishes: skirting, architraves, doors, windows
Extensions are mostly bricklayer-led, but the joinery is what decides whether the end result feels like a real part of the house or a tacked-on box. Framing, openings, roof structure, then the doors and skirting that tie it back to the original rooms.
We work as the joinery lead on most extensions in Lanarkshire — usually alongside a brickwork team and an architect-managed warrant. If you are at the point of working out what is actually possible on your plot, come to us early. A site visit is free and we will save you money by ruling things out before the architect bills three drawings of impossible.
Our process
- 01
Consultation
We come out, look at what you are trying to do, and tell you the honest version of cost and timescale. Sometimes we suggest you do something different than you came in with.
- 02
Coordination
For full extensions we are part of a team — usually architect, structural engineer, brickwork lead, ourselves on joinery. We work to a programme and turn up when the brickie says we are needed.
- 03
Structural work
Openings, beams, frames, floors. The bones of the extension that decide whether it stands up properly for thirty years.
- 04
Finishes
Once the brickwork and plastering are done we come back for doors, skirting, architraves, kitchen if there is one. The bit you actually see.

What customers say about our home extensions work
Rafal is a very skilled tradesman and provides a professional joinery service. He built walls, layed flooring and carried out finishing works to a high standard at my house. Rafal sticks to the agreed price and always turns up when arranged. He also arranged for other tradesman to carry out work for me who work with the same principles as himself. I would highly recommend Rafal who very honest and trustworthy.
