Bespoke Wardrobes & Built-in Storage
Storage built to the inch of your room, not bought to fit roughly.
What's included
- Site measure of the recess or wall — to the millimetre, no rounding
- Carcasses cut from 18mm MR-MDF or birch ply, hand-finished to taste
- Soft-close hinges and runners as standard
- Internal fit-out: shelves, hanging rails, drawers, shoe trays, pull-down rails
- Decorating-ready primer or a full finished paint job in any spec
Storage gets boring fast unless it is built for what you actually own. A wardrobe deep enough for winter coats. A drawer the right height for jeans, not skirts. Pull-out shoe trays low down where shoes belong, not jammed in the bottom of a hanging space.
We build to the room — alcove cupboards round chimney breasts, full-height wardrobes that disappear into the wall, under-stair pull-outs, window-seat storage. Mostly MDF or birch ply, mostly painted on-site, mostly fitted in under a week.
Our process
- 01
Site visit
We come round, measure properly, talk about what actually goes inside (shoes, hanging, folded, bulky winter coats).
- 02
Sketch and quote
You get a drawing of the internal layout and a fixed quote. Changes welcome at this stage.
- 03
Build
Cut, assembled and pre-finished off-site where we can, so your house gets two or three days of fitting rather than a fortnight of dust.
- 04
Fit and finish
Carcasses installed, doors hung, internals fitted, beading scribed to wall. Decorator-ready or fully painted.

Reviews
What customers say about our bespoke wardrobes work
Updated my daughter's wardrobe — new sliding doors, runners etc. Very well done, reliable and efficient, no excuses, very pleased. Also replaced hinges on doors. Would highly recommend this company.
Lisa CooksonWardrobe sliding doors · via GoogleThis week I had the pleasure of having Surma Joinery come into our home to fit two new sliding wardrobe doors in both our bedroom and spare bedroom. The work was completed over two days, and from start to finish the service was excellent. They were quick to come out and provide a quote, and just as swift getting the work booked in and completed. Brilliant company — professional, efficient, and the quality of work is fantastic. Highly recommend!
Joshua DownieSliding wardrobe doors · via GoogleRafal has restored my faith in tradespeople! What a refreshing experience. Rafal fitted our kitchen, including cabinets, oak worktops, cupboards, shaker door on utility cupboard, bathroom door and cladding under the stairs to a very high standard. Rafal and his colleague both had great work ethics, were very professional and arrived on the dates and times arranged and had lots of energy and enthusiasm to bring to the project. He also checked in frequently to make sure we were happy with the work so far. Very reasonably priced for the standard of work and I don't think I could use anyone else going forward. Thanks Rafal and team.
